I used to practice every chance I get when I took the train to work and back; it helped pass the time... (~30-40 minute rides. Luckily, it's summer break for students!)

And now I stopped, for the time being. I think normal typing is enough to keep my ~70 top speed ant ~50-60 comfort speeds. (Those were my QWERTY speeds, afterall...)

The reason for my stopping was because I got to obsessive with keeping 100% accuracy and high ~80 wpm speeds. It's bad [~_~]. Don't let the graph displays take over you!! (It's like playing a video game and wanting to keep a high score high...) It got so bad that I spent an entire day (sneak-practicing at work too...) trying to get the score.

Yeah. So don't be like me. It's okay to have dips in your progress charts. I sure did :)
Keep practicing! You'll get there in no time.

Nice!

Well I'm still in the 45-50 range. Mostly due to my own fault. A lot of days I just can't bring myself to sit down for a concentrated hour of practice. So it ends up more often than not with me taking a couple runs over at Ryan Heise's site and telling myself it's okay. It's just hard after staring a screen all day to do another hour. On average, how much do you practice each day?

I just downloaded Amphetype and am liking the key specific stats. Klavaro is what I used previously and it's okay for learning the keys, but speed wise it pretty much just says, "Go faster!" Yeah, that helps...

A little update on my part-- I was recently able to break 80 wpm on Amphetype. Been practicing ever morning on the train ride to work. However, it's not varied practice (mostly the same text -- I'm trying to aim for high accuracy too).

On usual typing, I can probably get a sound ~50 or ~60 wpm (compared to 40 on QWERTY).

Almost a month now. Keep on practicing :) !!

Stan- Sounds like you're doing great! I'd be happy with that progress, but as I said I haven't been practicing as much as I should. I do like the feeling of typing in Colemak--it's much more relaxed.

Hey, any progress reports?
I actually started learning Colemak around the same time you did, and I want to parallel my development to yours.

It was hard at first, but I am finally getting to the ~50 wpm area (took ~3 weeks). But my accuracy still needs work and I still haven't yet reached my QWERTY speeds (~65wpm, sometimes 70)

Excellent shots! The top three are as good as some classic baseball shots I've seen from sports photographers.

geeeez aj... that is an amazing photo. btw the cloud on the left looks some kind of an animal. maybe if you stopped eating them, their spirits would stop infiltrating your photo sessions. just a thought.

Just a quick strobist set up. A 580ex snooted behind and left of the glass. I shot it at 1/250 @ f/9 to black out the background.
